#EssentialRecipe => Dukkah

I discovered Dukkah recently via Athena Calderone and it is quickly becoming indispensable! Absolutely simple to make and the best part is that you can always have a jar of it around. I tweaked the recipe a bit by adding chickpeas beans


-1 Cup cooked chickpeas pat dry

-2/3 Cup skinned hazelnuts

-1/2 Cup black sesame seeds (you can use regular)

-2 Tbsp coriander seeds

-2 Tbsp cumin seeds

-2 tsp freshly ground black pepper

-1tsp flaked sea salt



Preheat the oven at 400.

Roast the hazelnut on a baking tray for 3 or 4 minutes...

Weekend brunch is a one of our favorite meals of the week. Try this simple recipe for a hearty brunch celebration.


-4 large potatoes (we like Yukon Gold) or what ever is local.

-2 cloves garlic

-1 shallot

-2 Tbsp avocado oil

-2 garlic cloves

-1 medium onion sliced

-1 medium butternut squash (about 3 cups)

-2 pears (keep 1 slice per bowl for presentation and add the rest to the soup)

-1/2 tsp curry powder

-1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

-1/2 tsp fresh ginger

-750 ml vegan broth

Hummus is such a perfect healthy snack. We make some at home every week. Here's a helpful tip: add half an avocado to make a smoother and fluffier texture.


-3 cups chickpeas

-3 Tbsp tahini

-6 small to medium garlic cloves

-Half an avocado

-1/2 tsp grounded cumin seeds (sometimes I skip these)

-2 to 3 Tbsp olive oil

-2 Tbsp lemon juice

-1 cup wheat berries (soaked overnight)

-3 cup vegetable broth

-3 cup brussels sprouts quartered

-1 shallot

-2 tbsp olive oil

-1/4 cup crush walnuts

-1 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
