#EssentialCocktail => Spicy Hot Buttered Rum

A habanero twist on a Hot Holiday cocktail.


-2 cups water

-1/4 cup of butter

-2/3 cup brown sugar

-1/2 tsp Jonny Hetherington Essentials Peach Habanero Hot Sauce

-3/4 tsp cinnamon

-1/2 tsp nutmeg

-1 clove

-1/8 tsp salt

-1/2 tsp vanilla extract

-2/3 cup rum

Whipping Cream Method:

Add a slash of maple syrup or a few tablespoons of brown sugar to 1 cup of heavy whipping cream. In a chilled bowl, whip the cream by hand until thick. I like to do this outside, as it’s seems to slash everywhere. If you want to switch whipping hands place the bowl on a non slip trivet and switch away.


Buttered Rum Method:

In your favourite pan, bring the water, butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove and salt to a boil. Let simmer for 10 min. Remove from heat and add the vanilla and rum. Pour in a glass and top with whipping cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg.

Voila! Spicy Hot Buttered Rum.
